New York, NY, October 8, 2015 – On October 24, the Mariinsky Foundation of America will present the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition First Prize Winners’ Recital at Carnegie Hall, which will mark the young artists’ New York debut. Part of a worldwide tour following the announcement of the winners in Moscow this summer, the Carnegie Hall recital will be the first and only stop in the United States, and will feature performances by First Prize and Gold Medal Winners Andrei Ionuț Ioniță (cello), Dmitry Masleev (piano), Yulia Matochkina (mezzo-soprano) and Grand Prix winner Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar (baritone).The tour aims to build on the Tchaikovsky Competition’s mission to identify and support outstanding young talent by providing transformative professional experiences and educational opportunities to prepare them for the next stage of their careers.
The New York recital will be hosted by Maestro Valery Gergiev, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition, and follows performances by various prize recipients in Japan (Pacific Music Festival), Finland (Gergiev Festival Mikkeli), Sweden (Baltic Sea Festival), Italy (including the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana in Rimini and MITO SettembreMusica festival in Milan), Austria (Brucknerhaus in Linz), Switzerland (LAC Lugano Art and Culture), the Netherlands (Rotterdam Philharmonic Gergiev Festival) and Russia (Mariinsky Concert Hall in St. Petersburg).
Upcoming performances will take place in the United Kingdom (Cadogan Hall in London on October 26 and Symphony Hall in Birmingham on October 28), Russia (Mariinsky Concert Hall in St. Petersburg on October 8, November 28, December 8 and additional dates in 2016), China (including Wuhan, Ma’Anshan and Beijing on November 7-11 and an additional tour on January 9-16), Germany (Gasteig in Munich on November 14) and Korea (Great Mountains Music Festival in Pyeongchang on February 24-27), among other locations.

The XV International Tchaikovsky Competition First Prize Winners make their U.S. debut at Carnegie Hall with a program offering works by composers including Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Saint-Saens and Tchaikovsky.
